Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated a series of development projects on Thursday, valued at Rs 7,160 crore. The projects primarily focus on the construction and establishment of panchayat government buildings throughout the state.
Initiatives include laying the foundation for 2,615 such buildings in various blocks as well as opening a panchayat resource centre in Sonepur. Additionally, the Chief Minister announced plans to install 11,75,740 street lights by March 2025, with 8,00,740 currently under installation.
The comprehensive effort includes directives for suitable land identification and the installation of solar panels to reduce electricity costs. Key political figures attended the inauguration, underlining the government's commitment to equipping panchayati raj institutions with similar amenities as those of the state government.
