Turkey's Air Strikes: A Renewed Offensive Against PKK

In a decisive military response, Turkey launched fresh air strikes against PKK militants in northern Syria and Iraq, resulting in the deaths of 59 militants. This action, announced by the Defence Ministry on Thursday, follows a deadly gun attack in Ankara that claimed five lives.
The assault on a Turkish Aerospace Industries location prompted intensified military operations targeting 29 PKK installations in Iraq and 18 in Syria. The Turkish Defence Ministry reported that two high-level militants were among those neutralized.
Meanwhile, President Tayyip Erdogan, at a BRICS summit, condemned the Ankara attack. Discussions concerning PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan's possible political engagement continue amid heightened tensions.
