Delhi Police's Initiative on Animal Protection Laws

Delhi Police hosted a workshop on animal protection laws at its academy, attended by 150 sub-inspectors. Led by the renowned Gauri Maulekhi, the workshop explored the environmental and public health implications of animal welfare and offered guidance on legal protocols against animal cruelty.

In a bid to enhance the understanding of animal protection laws, the Delhi Police organized an insightful workshop at the Delhi Police Academy in Jhardoa Kalan on Wednesday. The event was a collaborative effort with NGOs Varaha Impact Foundation and People for Animals - Public Policy Foundation, drawing participation from 150 sub-inspectors.

The workshop featured Gauri Maulekhi, a Nari Shakti Puruskar awardee, who shared her expertise in animal welfare and motivated attendees to adopt proactive measures against animal cruelty. The discussions underscored that animal protection extends beyond preventing cruelty, impacting broader domains such as the environment, public health, and safety.

The interactive sessions focused on the legal frameworks surrounding animal welfare and their connection to public health and safety. This initiative reflects Delhi Police's dedication to upholding "shanti, seva, nyay" (peace, service, and justice) for both humans and animals in the city.
