The parliamentary panel chief, Jagdambika Pal, dismissed opposition accusations on Wednesday that he breached protocol by publicizing an incident at a committee meeting.
The incident involved Trinamool Congress's Kalyan Banerjee, who allegedly smashed a glass bottle and hurled it in the direction of the chair after a disagreement with BJP member Abhijit Gangopadhyay.
Pal maintained that he followed parliamentary procedures, having only commented on the altercation and Banerjee's subsequent suspension from the committee for one day.
