The Bombay High Court has rejected pre-arrest bail for Akash Avhad, accused of violently assaulting a 71-year-old man aboard a train on suspicions of beef possession.

Justice R N Laddha cited the nascent stage of the investigation as a reason for potentially requiring Avhad’s custodial interrogation. The incident occurred on a Dhule-CSMT express train where the senior citizen, who was carrying buffalo meat, faced assault from Avhad and others.

The court emphasized that granting bail could disrupt the investigation's integrity. Avhad, previously arrested, now faces charges including causing grievous hurt and intentionally hurting religious sentiments.
