The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for a plea arising from the Bahraich communal violence incident, where three individuals are challenging demolition notices issued by the Uttar Pradesh government.
Senior advocate C U Singh, representing the petitioners, presented the case to Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan, emphasizing the urgency as the state has allowed only a brief three-day period for response.
Additional Solicitor General K M Nataraj, for the UP government, noted that the Allahabad High Court is already addressing the matter. The Supreme Court urged restraint from the government until the hearing on Wednesday.
