Mumbai's traffic police have confirmed receiving an apology message from the same number that previously sent a Rs 5 crore threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. This message arrived through the traffic police's WhatsApp helpline, officials noted.
The investigation has established that the apology originated from the same device as the initial threat. Previously, the city's traffic control was warned not to dismiss the Rs 5 crore demand lightly.
Following the extortion threats, a case was lodged at the Worli police station. Khan has been the target of prior threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who further escalated tensions by opening fire near his Bandra residence in April.
