The Chamoli district administration has dismissed reports of a community being ordered to vacate Khansar valley by December 31st. District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari emphasized that the Vyapar Mandal's public awareness rally aimed to verify outsiders setting up stalls in the Gairsain area, ensuring peace and order.

A meeting last Wednesday, potentially attributed to the Vyapar Mandal and residents of Maithan, allegedly threatened a specific community with eviction, sparking concerns over rising criminal activities. Such accusations have since been rejected by the district authorities.

Baldev Singh Negi, President of Maithan Vyapar Mandal, was reported to have mentioned increasing crimes, especially against women, implicating particular community members. However, these claims were repudiated as factually incorrect, reiterating the administration's position on maintaining community harmony.
