Authorities in Odisha are investigating a grim discovery made along the banks of the Baitarani River in Jajpur district on Monday. The body of a young man, identified as 27-year-old Mataka Munda, was found with injury marks, sparking an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Local residents discovered the lifeless body near Patapur village, located under the jurisdiction of Jajpur Town police. The police were promptly informed and arrived on the scene to transport the body for an autopsy. As of now, officials are awaiting postmortem results to determine the exact cause of death.

Mataka Munda, a resident of Ghatagan area in Keonjhar district, had been working as a daily laborer and residing with a relative in Jajpur town. Speaking about the incident, police officials stated, "We are yet to ascertain the precise cause of death, pending further investigation and autopsy findings."
