A bomb threat email received by Gandhinagar's capital has turned out to be a hoax after an extensive search of the GNLU campus, police officials confirmed on Monday.
The alarming email, sent by an unidentified individual to the GNLU registrar's official address, alleged that a bomb had been planted on the premises. Deputy Superintendent of Police RI Desai explained the situation on Sunday evening, prompting immediate emergency response.
Authorities conducted a meticulous search of the campus, including both hostel and office areas, using the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad alongside a canine unit. Ultimately, no suspicious items were located. Meanwhile, a technical team is actively tracing the origin of the email. Notably, earlier in May, similar threatening emails were sent to Ahmedabad's airport and ten local schools.
