In a startling incident, an FIR has been lodged against four individuals, including the brother and nephews of a BJP MLA, for allegedly assaulting hospital staff after being refused entry to an ICU. This comes following an altercation at a private hospital, the police confirmed on Monday.

The complaint, filed by Dr. Lalit Varshney, accuses the group of physically attacking staff members Pratap and Satyapal when they were barred from entering the intensive care unit on Sunday. Inspector Anand Kumar Shahi stated that the allegations were supported by CCTV evidence.

Included in the accused are MLA Rajesh Chowdhury's brother, Jitendra Singh, and his nephews, Sanjay and Dev Chowdhury, along with a local named Jaswant. Attempts were made to counter the FIR, alleging attacks by the hospital staff, which were promptly found to be false, according to police.
