Karnataka Invests in Law Enforcement with New Police Stations and Housing

Karnataka is set to enhance its law enforcement infrastructure, as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the establishment of 100 new police stations and the construction of 10,000 housing units for police personnel by 2025. Speaking at a Police Remembrance Day event, the CM paid tribute to 216 policemen who lost their lives in the line of duty, including 12 from Karnataka.
The state government has allocated Rs 2,000 crore for the housing project and Rs 200 crore for the new police stations. Siddaramaiah also announced the opening of seven new public schools, with a commitment to expanding such educational institutions in the future.
Highlighting the role of law and order in societal peace, the Chief Minister stated that a peaceful society attracts investments, generates job opportunities, and bolsters the economy. To combat unlawful activities, 200 vehicles patrol highways, and 6,000 CCTV cameras monitor public spaces. Siddaramaiah assured the police force of the necessary support to fulfill their duties.
