In a surprising turn of events at a musical concert in Pune's Kharadi area, police have arrested four individuals allegedly responsible for a series of mobile phone thefts. According to a senior police official, the arrests led to the recovery of 14 out of the 36 stolen phones, worth Rs 4.87 lakh in total.
The incident unfolded on October 18 when a 20-year-old concert-goer reported the theft to Chandan Nagar police. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police traced the thefts to a group, arresting two suspects each from Hyderabad and Mumbai.
Authorities believe the operation could be the tip of a larger crime syndicate, prompting a thorough investigation. The incident highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement in curbing theft during large public events.
