A loud blast jolted the residents of Rohini in Delhi on Sunday morning, with vibrations felt far and wide. As the sound echoed through nearby neighborhoods, locals were confronted with a chemical-like smell and thick white smoke, inducing panic, especially near a CRPF school in Paschim Vihar.
The explosion, described as earthquake-like by witnesses such as Kiran Sachdeva, led to immediate deployments of police, fire brigade, bomb squad, and teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and National Security Guard (NSG) to determine the blast's cause. Though no injuries occurred, the area faced structural damages, with shattered glass and closed shops marking the once-bustling streets.
Residents expressed relief that the incident unfolded on a Sunday when schools were closed, contemplating potential disasters on a weekday. With Diwali around the corner, the blast's timing during the festive season heightened concerns. Officials are currently investigating the blast, possibly caused by a crude bomb, collecting evidence to uncover the truth behind the sudden scare.
