Tragedy Amidst Conflict: A Father's Loss and Senegal's Stand

In a heart-wrenching moment, Hussein Hachem held his injured daughter Mariam as she arrived in Senegal, escaping the turmoil in Lebanon. Tragically, his 14-year-old son was killed in a bombing, leaving Hachem with profound loss as he reunites with his daughter.

The conflict has forced Senegal to bring back 117 citizens, including Mariam, on a specially organized flight. Senegal condemns the violence in Lebanon, with the country's foreign minister Yassine Fall criticizing the Israeli offensive and highlighting historical ties to Lebanon and Palestine.

While Dakar witnessed protests against Israel's actions in Gaza and Lebanon, Senegal calls for an international response, describing the situation as genocide, despite Israel's rejection of such claims and its defense of actions post-October 7th Hamas attack.
