On Saturday, the army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir, according to official reports.
Soldiers observed suspicious movements near the LoC in the Kamalkote area of the Uri sector, prompting them to confront the intruders.
In response, the intruders opened fire, prompting retaliatory gunfire from the army, leading to the believed killing of one infiltrator whose body remains unrecovered due to challenging terrain.
As of the latest reports, the operation is still ongoing.
