Mumbai Police's Anti-Extortion Cell has successfully apprehended Tribhuvan Singh, a principal suspect in the notorious JJ Hospital shootout of 1992. Singh was found in Uttar Pradesh and taken into custody after 32 years on the run, according to an official statement released on Saturday.

Revealing the brutal underworld gang conflicts of the early '90s, the JJ Hospital incident occurred after the murder of Ibrahim Parkar, brother-in-law of Dawood Ibrahim. The shootout involved gunmen who attacked a state-run hospital, leading to three fatalities, including two police officers.

Singh, also known as Shrikant Rai Rampati, was brought before a special court in Mumbai and has been remanded to police custody until October 25. Authorities continue to pursue justice for the victims of the infamous attack as they unravel the intricate web of criminal alliances.
