Two individuals were apprehended following a dramatic encounter with authorities near Amritsar's Diamond Avenue, where gunfire was exchanged, resulting in one injury.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that the incident, linked to inter-gang rivalry, unfolded after several shots were fired outside a residence. Swift police action led to the identification and arrest of the alleged suspects, who were found in possession of weapons.
Separately, in a joint operation involving the Punjab Border Security Force (BSF) and local police, another individual was detained for attempting to smuggle narcotics near Amritsar's border. Links to Pakistan-based smuggling networks are being probed.
