In a statement issued after their meeting in Naples, the G7 ministers made it clear that they intend to continue providing both short-term and long-term military assistance to Ukraine. This strong show of solidarity comes as the Eastern European nation faces ongoing tensions with its neighbor, Russia.
Italy, holding the 2024 chair of the G7, hosted the meeting, which was attended by representatives from the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, and the European Union, NATO, along with the Ukrainian defense minister. The gathering underscored the international backing for Ukraine's strategic ambitions.
