The Delhi High Court has instructed authorities to deport an Afghan national arrested for living in India without a valid visa. The man allegedly exploited a U.S. citizen financially and sexually under false pretenses of marriage.

Justice Vikas Mahajan dismissed the FIR following a settlement between the involved parties and noted the prolonged trial delays. The court directed jail authorities to transfer the accused to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for deportation.

The case was initiated between 2016 and 2017 when the accused befriended the complainant in India, deceitfully acquiring approximately USD 90,000. The police discovery revealed prior instances of similar deception by the married man. The FIR filed in 2017 included charges under the IPC, Foreigners Act, and IT Act.
