Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has issued a condemnation of Israel's military actions against a United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon. The Israeli military recently targeted an observation post occupied by U.N. peacekeepers, inflicting injuries on two individuals, according to a U.N. source.

This marks the third consecutive day where peacekeepers have reported coming under fire from Israeli forces as Israel continues its campaign against Hezbollah in the region. Sanchez's criticisms were expressed following his meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican.

The Spanish leader also called upon the international community to take a firm stance against the ongoing conflict by ceasing arms sales to Israel, noting Spain's consistent critique of the state in the context of recent Middle Eastern tensions.
