The Indian Navy has declared 2024 as the 'Year of Naval Civilians', marking its commitment to enhancing the welfare, inclusivity, and work environment for its civilian workforce. The initiative aims to prioritize the well-being and professional growth of Naval Civilians by introducing a range of measures designed to improve HR management and foster a sense of belonging among employees.

A key highlight of the initiative is a life insurance program for Naval Civilians, a pressing concern to provide financial relief to the families of employees in the event of an untimely death during service. To address this, the Indian Navy has signed an MoU with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company. This partnership will offer a comprehensive portfolio of insurance products, including Term Insurance options at affordable premiums, which civilians can opt for voluntarily. The initiative ensures instant financial support for the families of Naval Civilian employees facing tragic circumstances.

Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Chief of Personnel, underscored the importance of these welfare measures during an address, emphasizing that the tailored life insurance solutions provided by Bajaj Allianz Life would help safeguard the future of civilian employees' families. He reaffirmed the Indian Navy's dedication to ensuring the well-being of Naval Civilians and their families, in line with its broader strategy of improving the overall quality of life for its workforce.
