Dawn Raid: Ukrainian Drones Target Russian Airbase
Ukrainian drones targeted the Khanskaya military airbase in Russia's southern Adygeya Republic, according to reports. Photos show a downed long-range drone near the airbase. Regional head Murat Kumpilov reported evacuations in Rodnikovy due to a fire. Russia's defence ministry stated 47 drones were downed overnight in the region.
In a bold move, Ukrainian drones launched an attack on the Khanskaya military airbase situated in Russia's southern Adygeya Republic early Thursday, as per Mash, a Russian news outlet. The attack marks a significant escalation in regional tensions.
Mash shared images claiming to depict a United States-made long-range drone that was downed near the airbase, adding fuel to the ongoing geopolitical conflict. Meanwhile, Murat Kumpilov, the regional head, announced on Telegram that the village of Rodnikovy was being evacuated following a fire sparked by the drone assault.
Though the target was the suburbs of Maykop city, no casualties were reported. Furthermore, RIA news agency reported that Russia's defence ministry confirmed the downing of 47 drones overnight across the broader Kuban region, encompassing Adygeya.
