Controversy Over Sanjauli Mosque Sparks Legal Battle

The All Himachal Muslim's Organisation (AHMO) announced plans to challenge an order to demolish parts of the Sanjauli mosque, claiming it lacks proper authorization. The decision, initially made by Shimla Municipal Commissioner's Court, has ignited controversy.

Despite earlier concessions by some mosque committee members, AHMO contends that these promises were unauthorized. The organization voices concerns over rights infringements, stating that the mosque's unauthorized stories are not illegal and highlighting the site's cultural and historical significance.

The situation escalated following protests demanding the entrance's removal, leading to the use of water cannons. The conflict has sparked broader demands for transparency regarding the management of Waqf Board properties and oversight of migrant workers in the area.
