A land dispute in a village turned deadly when a 65-year-old Dalit man, Raja Ram Kori, was killed, police announced on Wednesday.

Kori had bought land in Birahimpur village, leading to an argument with the seller that escalated into violence. Seriously injured, Kori was taken to Shukul Bazar Community Health Centre, then referred to a Lucknow trauma centre, where he succumbed to his injuries, police confirmed.

Law enforcement has filed a case and continues its investigation. In the meantime, officers have been stationed at the scene to maintain order. Circle Officer Atul Kumar Singh reported that the situation is fully under control.
