Unmasking the Social Media Scam: Influencers Under Investigation
Several social media influencers, including Elvish Yadav, are under investigation for promoting a fraudulent app named HIBOX, which allegedly scammed users of Rs 500 crore. The Delhi Police's IFSO Unit has called them for questioning as they seek to uncover the extent of the scam. Meanwhile, payment platform Easebuzz has blocked the implicated merchant and is cooperating with authorities.

Social media influencers like Elvish Yadav find themselves entangled in a major fraud investigation by the Delhi Police, connected to the HIBOX mobile app that promised exorbitant returns to investors.
The IFSO Unit has issued notices to multiple influencers, including Abhishek Malhan and Purav Jha, but none have complied with the request for questioning thus far, a senior officer reported.
The police are examining the conduct of several YouTubers in promoting HIBOX, while the payment service Easebuzz has preemptively blocked transactions from the associated merchant and filed a Suspicious Transaction Report as per regulatory requirements.
