The Aam Aadmi Party has raised serious allegations against Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, accusing him of orchestrating a conspiracy against the Delhi government. This follows the Supreme Court's questioning of Saxena's decision to expedite the election for the final member of the MCD's Standing Committee.
Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has openly criticized the Lieutenant Governor, calling his actions shameful and suggesting that Saxena's maneuvering benefits the Bharatiya Janata Party, which held power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for 15 years prior to AAP's ascendancy.
The Supreme Court has intervened, cautioning against the use of executive powers to intercede in electoral proceedings, highlighting the potential danger to democratic processes. Despite the controversy, the BJP secured a significant victory in the elections, gaining control of the MCD's key decision-making committee.
