Supreme Court Steps In: Independent Probe Ordered into Tirupati Laddu Controversy

The Supreme Court has established an independent Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the controversial allegations concerning the use of animal fat in the making of Tirupati laddus.
The decision comes as a significant intervention, replacing the Andhra Pradesh government's earlier SIT, amid political tensions surrounding the dispute.
This newly constituted SIT comprises officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Andhra Pradesh Police, and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
