The Supreme Court has called for an independent Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate allegations of animal fat usage in the iconic Tirupati laddus. YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to issue an apology to the public following the court's decision.
During a press conference, Reddy criticized Naidu, noting that the Supreme Court's dismissal of the CM's previously appointed SIT showcased the 'true picture' of his administration. Reddy accused Naidu of failing to demonstrate any religious devotion or regret, further alleging that Naidu's party, the TDP, was spreading misinformation through social media.
The Supreme Court's new SIT will include officials from the CBI, Andhra Pradesh Police, and the FSSAI, with oversight provided by the CBI Director. In response to the development, Naidu expressed acceptance of the court's directive through his social media channels.
