External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar landed in Colombo on Friday for a significant one-day visit to engage with the newly instated Sri Lankan leadership, led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Upon arriving at Colombo airport, Jaishankar expressed his eagerness to meet the officials, marking him as the first foreign dignitary to visit since Dissanayake's National People’s Power government took office.
The visit aims to fortify the Indo-Lankan relationship and address concerns relating to Indian-supported projects in Sri Lanka, particularly the sustainable energy projects by the Adani Group, which President Dissanayake has previously questioned.
