Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) and the Arunachal Pradesh Police have signed an agreement to set up a counselling centre named Ane's Home at the Itanagar women police station.

The centre aims to offer critical psycho-social and legal aid to victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and trauma, according to a statement from the central university.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) seeks to foster a collaborative framework between the police and RGU. The university's departments of social work, psychology, national security studies, and law will provide tailored support including mental health assessments and para-legal aid to victims on a case-by-case basis.

The initiative also focuses on training police personnel with a trauma-informed approach to handle child abuse and domestic violence cases more effectively.
