Nepal's government released a new alert for heavy rains on Wednesday, following consecutive days of devastating downpours that have caused widespread floods and landslides, resulting in over 240 deaths nationwide.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak instructed authorities and disaster management agencies to stay vigilant as forecasts anticipate heavy rainfall in Koshi, Bagmati, and the Kathmandu Valley through Thursday.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology highlighted further risks in these regions, prompting the Home Ministry to warn both local governments and the public to be prepared for potential disaster.

Home Ministry spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari stated that over 13,000 individuals have been rescued thus far, and more than 20,000 security personnel are engaged in search, rescue, and relief operations.
