Violent Clash Erupts Over Land Dispute in Ukhrul During 'Swachhata Abhiyan'

Three individuals, including an on-duty Manipur Rifles personnel, were killed in a violent clash that erupted between two groups over a land dispute in Ukhrul town on Wednesday during a 'Swachhata Abhiyan' event, officials confirmed.
In the aftermath of the clash, prohibitory orders were enforced, and mobile internet services were suspended for a day. The conflict also resulted in five injuries, prompting additional forces to be deployed to restore order.
Both groups involved in the clash are part of the Naga community but hail from different villages. Three of the deceased have been identified as Worrinmi Thumra, Reileiwung Hongray, and Silas Zingkhai. The local authorities and legislators have appealed for peace and a dialogue to resolve the dispute.
