Tragic Accident on State Highway Claims Life of 50-Year-Old Woman

A 50-year-old woman named Santosh was struck and killed by a private bus on a state highway in Meghrajpur village. The accident occurred as she was getting off the bus, and the driver fled the scene. Police are investigating and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the driver.

A 50-year-old woman was tragically killed by a private bus on the state highway in Meghrajpur village, police reported on Tuesday. The victim, identified as Santosh, was returning to her village when the accident occurred late Monday evening.

According to Superintendent of Police (rural) Sagar Jain, the incident happened as Santosh was alighting from the bus when the driver prematurely started moving the vehicle, hitting her fatally. She died instantly at the scene.

Alarmed by the incident, locals immediately notified the authorities. However, the driver had already fled by the time police arrived. Efforts are currently underway to arrest the driver, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
