Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff, announced that the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh remains stable but sensitive, due to the prolonged military standoff between China and India.
While diplomatic discussions have shown promising signals for resolving the issue, the actual implementation of any plan rests on the military commanders on the field, Gen Dwivedi emphasized during the Chanakya Defence Dialogue event.
Despite positive diplomatic gestures, the situation is far from normal, according to Gen Dwivedi, who added that operational preparedness is crucial to handle any contingencies as trust continues to be a significant casualty in the ongoing conflict.
