Chief of Army Staff Gen Upendra Dwivedi addressed the ongoing military standoff between India and China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, describing the situation as stable but sensitive and not normal.

Gen Dwivedi emphasized that while diplomatic talks have shown positive signals, effective resolutions depend on the military commanders' decisions on the ground. This follows two rounds of diplomatic discussions in July and August aimed at resolving the standoff.

Despite some progress in disengagement from friction points, full resolution remains elusive, with trust identified as the biggest casualty. Both sides continue to prepare operationally for any contingencies, underlining the volatile nature of the situation.
