British foreign minister David Lammy has renewed his call for an immediate ceasefire in light of increasing tensions in the Israel-Lebanon conflict. This follows his recent discussion with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday.

Lammy told Sky News, 'We've both seen the reports in the media about a next phase for Israel in Lebanon,' amid indications that Israel may be preparing to send ground troops into Lebanon.

Both Lammy and Blinken agreed on the importance of the stance taken at the U.N. last week, advocating for an immediate ceasefire and a return to political dialogue to resolve the conflict.
