Trio Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Gangrape of Minor Sisters

A special court in Shahjahanpur district has convicted three men in a seven-year-old case of gangrape involving two minor sisters, sentencing them to life imprisonment.
Special Judge of POCSO Court, Arpana Tripathi, handed down life sentences to Jitendra, Shivam, and Bantu. She also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on each of the convicts, according to Assistant District Government Counsel (ADGC) Deep Kumar Gupta.
The tragic incident dates back to October 10, 2017, when the two sisters, aged 13 and 16, were assaulted while answering nature's call in a field. The accused attacked and raped both girls, with the elder sister being severely injured when she resisted.
