Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has pledged that a BJP government in Jharkhand would implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the Santhal Pargana and Kolhan divisions. He vowed to expel 'Bangladeshi infiltrators' if the party is elected.
Sarma also committed to constructing five lakh houses for the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), accusing the current Hemant Soren administration of hindering such development projects. The Assembly polls are scheduled for later this year.
Addressing the 'Parivartan Yatra' event, Sarma criticized Soren for failing to deliver on promises of jobs, unemployment allowance, and other benefits. Launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP's yatra aims to connect with voters across 81 assembly segments.
