The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has urgently requested a meeting with Lt Governor VK Saxena to discuss the rising gang-related extortion and law and order issues plaguing Delhi. This appeal comes in the wake of three recent shootings targeting business owners in various parts of the city.
In a letter to the LG, AAP MLAs expressed grave concern over the surge in gang-related violence and extortion in the nation's capital. The letter cited three incidents of open firing and extortion attempts, which have tainted Delhi's reputation both locally and globally.
Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj highlighted that despite 500 complaints of extortion calls in the past six months, only 15 FIRs have been registered. He criticized the LG's oversight and called for immediate actions to ensure safety for the residents and business community.
