Police have escalated charges against the 17-year-old juvenile involved in the Kalyani Nagar Porsche crash, adding destruction of evidence and forgery to his already grave list of offences.

A supplementary final report, detailing these fresh charges, has been presented to the Juvenile Justice Board, according to an official statement. Initially, the boy was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder under IPC section 304 in June. The juvenile reportedly drove under the influence of alcohol and collided with a motorbike, killing two young IT professionals.

The new charges include several sections of the Indian Penal Code as well as the Prevention of Corruption Act, alleging that the juvenile colluded with various parties to swap blood samples and conceal his intoxication. Technical data and witness statements were also added to the report to support the new allegations. The supplementary report was submitted by Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh Ingale through Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hiray.

While the High Court ordered the juvenile's release from an observation home, his parents and seven others, including two doctors from Sassoon General Hospital, remain in judicial custody.
