Deadly Strikes: Russian Assaults on Eastern Ukraine's Towns

Russian assaults on two eastern Ukrainian towns have left three dead and two wounded, regional authorities confirmed.

An artillery strike on Pokrovsk—a strategic hub—took the lives of two middle-aged men, as per Donetsk regional prosecutors. Moscow has been intensifying its efforts around Pokrovsk, advancing within close proximity of 8 kilometers (5 miles) from its edges.

In addition, Russian guided aerial bombs targeted two unspecified infrastructure facilities in Kostiantynivka, according to Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin. The attack claimed one life and injured two others. Located 12 km from Chasiv Yar, Kostiantynivka is a significant position where Ukrainian troops are resisting Russia's westward push.

Moscow refutes claims of targeting civilians, asserting its strikes aim at crippling Ukraine's military capabilities. Since the invasion began in February 2022, thousands of civilians have perished.
