A four-year-old girl was tragically kidnapped and murdered by her uncle in Delhi's Narela area, police reported on Monday.

The body was discovered in a forest near her home after the suspect was apprehended in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, authorities disclosed.

The father had filed a missing person report on Sunday night. Subsequent investigations revealed that the girl's uncle, embroiled in a dispute with her mother, was responsible for the abduction, a police officer stated.

Efforts led to the suspect's capture in Sitapur, aided by local police. Following his information, the child's body was located in the Swarna Jayanti Vihar forest close to Narela, the officer confirmed.

Legal proceedings under sections 103(1) (murder) and 238 (Causing disappearance of evidence, giving false information to shield offender) of the BNS have commenced. ''The accused is en route to Delhi for further investigation,'' the officer added.
