A potential disaster was narrowly avoided when the Kalindi Express train driver, en route to Bhiwani in Haryana, applied emergency brakes after spotting a gas cylinder on a railway track in Uttar Pradesh.

The train, travelling from Prayagraj, halted near Munderi village around 8 pm, averting a catastrophe. Assistant Commissioner of Police Harish Chander stated that the driver noticed the cylinder around 8:30 pm and acted swiftly to stop the train, causing the cylinder to roll off the tracks.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and local police were alerted. "A damaged cylinder and other suspicious materials were found," Chander confirmed, adding that a full investigation is in progress. Senior officials and forensic teams are examining the site to understand the motive behind the incident. Train services have since resumed.
