Tragic Double Death Stuns Dombivli

A 29-year-old woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter were discovered dead in their Dombivli residence, police reported on Monday.

The woman, identified as Pooja Sakpal, is believed to have smothered her daughter using a pillow on Sunday night before committing suicide by hanging, according to a police official.

No suicide note was retrieved from the scene. 'When Sakpal's husband returned around 8 PM, he found the room locked. Upon entering, he discovered the bodies of his wife and daughter,' the official confirmed.

The police are exploring various angles in the investigation and have registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including murder charges.
