This ambitious programme is set to cover 63,000 tribal-majority villages, targeting socioeconomic development for over five crore tribal families, across 549 districts and 2,740 blocks in 30 states and Union territories.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the government's commitment to tribal upliftment. ''This initiative will bridge critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood through various schemes, ensuring holistic development,'' he posted on social media. The Abhiyan involves collaboration among 17 ministries, aiming to build 20 lakh houses, improve infrastructure, and deploy medical units. Progress will be monitored and best-performing districts will be awarded.
