Ukraine's Countermeasures Under Strain Amid Russian-North Korean Military Collaboration

Ukraine's spy chief, Kyrylo Budanov, highlighted significant challenges due to increased Russian guided bomb production and artillery ammunition supplies from North Korea. Moscow's reliance on North Korean aid poses a critical threat to Ukrainian forces, further exacerbating the conflict. Ukrainian forces struggle to stave off Russian advances in the east.

Ukraine's military intelligence head, Kyrylo Budanov, sounded alarms over Russia's boosted production of guided bombs and receipt of artillery ammunition from North Korea, calling them severe threats for Ukrainian forces. Budanov emphasized the scale of North Korea's support compared to Moscow's other allies.

He noted that North Korea's artillery supplies are crucial for Russia, particularly as battlefield hostilities have intensified. Countries including Ukraine and the U.S. assert that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un aids Russia with missiles and ammunition for economic and military incentives from Moscow.

Budanov flagged the increased production of Iskander-type missiles, leading to Russia's extensive weapon use against Ukraine. He also highlighted the impact of strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure, causing power outages, and renewed President Zelenskiy's call for air defense support. Budanov predicted a Russian recruitment shortfall by mid-2025, posing a strategic dilemma for Moscow.
