Yehya Sinwar, the Hamas leader, has expressed gratitude to Hezbollah's chief, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, for the group's backing in the ongoing conflict with Israel. The acknowledgment came in a message reported Friday, marking Sinwar's first communication since assuming Hamas' leadership in August.

Hezbollah, an Iran-backed organization, has been actively engaging in attacks along the Lebanese-Israeli border for nearly a year, in parallel with the Gaza war. Nasrallah's support is part of a broader strategy involving Iran-backed groups known as the Axis of Resistance, which has also seen involvement from factions in Yemen and Iraq.

The conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with around 500 Hezbollah fighters killed by Israeli forces, surpassing the group's loss in the 2006 war. Meanwhile, the ongoing hostilities have displaced tens of thousands and heightened tensions, with potential escalation looming as Israeli forces shift focus towards the Lebanon border.
