Ukraine Downs 24 of 26 Drones in Overnight Assault
Ukraine's air force successfully intercepted 24 out of 26 drones launched by Russia overnight, affecting four regions. Debris caused injuries and property damage, with significant impacts in Odesa and Mykolaiv. Energy infrastructure was targeted in six regions, including Ivano-Frankivsk and Khmelnytskyi.
Ukraine's air force reported on Friday that it had successfully intercepted 24 out of 26 drones launched by Russia overnight, impacting four regions, as per a statement posted on the Telegram messaging app.
In the southern Odesa region, falling debris injured one person and damaged 20 homes and four garages, according to regional governor Oleh Kiper. In Mykolaiv, drone debris caused a fire at a food enterprise, which was extinguished, reported regional governor Vitaliy Kim.
Svitlana Onyshchuk, governor of the western Ivano-Frankivsk region, mentioned that authorities were managing the aftermath of the attack but did not provide specifics other than noting no injuries. Ukraine's energy ministry stated that Russia had targeted energy infrastructure in six regions over the past day, also damaging industrial facilities in Ivano-Frankivsk.
