The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a series of extensive raids across multiple locations in West Bengal on Friday in connection with the alleged multi-crore ration scam, officials revealed.

The federal probe agency's teams searched homes and godowns of ration shop traders, the residence of a food inspector, and a cooperative bank branch in various places such as Joynagar, Deganga, Kalyani, and Basanti. Kolkata was also among the targeted locations.

The aim of these raids is to uncover connections to the supposed scam for which former food minister Jyotipriya Mallick was apprehended in October last year, according to the officials. The ED had similarly raided 10 locations in July, targeting individuals linked to Mallick.
